Dr. Shruti Bajaj completed her MBBS and MD Pediatrics from Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She later earned a Fellowship in Clinical Genetics accredited by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences from the same institution.
She served as an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, from 2013–2017, gaining extensive clinical experience.
Dr. Bajaj also trained in Clinical & Laboratory Genetics at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and completed advanced courses in Clinical Genetics, including Cancer Genetic Counseling at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and Skeletal Dysplasia training in Lausanne, Switzerland.
In 2017, she founded The Purple Gene Clinic, which has become one of India's most trusted genetic clinics, serving patients across the country and internationally.
In 2024, she completed the prestigious International Master's Degree in Neurometabolism and Cell Biology at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, University of Barcelona. During this program, she received the International Travel Scholarship for 2023 and 2024 after her clinical cases were selected among the best applications.
Dr. Bajaj has numerous national and international publications and has contributed chapters on genetic disorders in leading textbooks.
Driven by her passion for community service, she established PEHEL, a support group for individuals with Down syndrome, in Mumbai in 2018. She also runs the Shantidevi Gupta Charitable OPD at The Purple Gene Clinic in memory of her late grandmother.
